Da una conoscenza con l’architetto Duranti che risale
a quasi vent’anni fa e da numerosi dialoghi avvenuti
tra Milano, Verona e qui, a Villa Dionisi, nelle sere
di settembre, dopo Abitare il Tempo, esce questo
desiderio di realizzare una collezione che vuole
guardare avanti per capire quale contributo possiamo
dare al mobile contemporaneo di alta qualità.
Siamo bravi a fare mobili, abbiamo cercato nella storia
dell’arredo pezzi raffinati e colti che abbiamo rieditato in
modo sapiente. Ci siamo immersi nella sperimentazione
di mobili artistici e fortemente creativi con i migliori
architetti-artisti-designer per creare pezzi unici di alto
valore culturale. Ora, con Duranti vogliamo esplorare
una strada nuova per noi, ma non meno sentita.
PATCHWORK è un modo di usare il legno prendendo
spunto dal modo di far tessuto e coperte utilizzando
ritagli e scarti di lane e stoffe.
Per noi è un gioco di far incastri e accostamenti tra
essenze particolarmente espressive e Duranti ci fa
cassetti, antine, ribaltine con giochi imprevedibili di
aperture indisponenti come nell’ebanisteria d’altri
tempi.
Quindi abbiamo realizzato credenze, tavoli, librerie,
mobili bassi per tv e stereo che sono e saranno
presenze forti all’interno di case di vario stile e cultura.
Con la collezione PATCHWORK desideriamo proporci
per un design destinato ad un quotidiano colto.

From the moment we met the architect Durante, almost
20 years ago and the numerous dialogues between
Milan and Verona and here at Villa Dionisi, during the
September evenings after the “Abitare il Tempo” event,
the wish arose to create a collection able to look ahead
and to understand what can be done to give value to
high quality contemporary furniture. We are good at
making furniture, within the history of interior design we
have selected refined and cultured pieces of furniture
of which we have made skilled re-editions. We have
dived into the field of experimentation of artistic and
highly creative furniture with the best architects-artists-
designers in order to create unique pieces of high
cultural value. Now, together with Durante, we wish to
explore a new field unknown to us but surely exciting.
PATCHWORK is a way of using wood inspired by the
way some fabrics and quilts are made, using pieces and
left over of wool and fabric.
For us this means joining different kinds of wood in an
expressive way and it is what Durante does in creating
drawers, doors, and panels with unpredictable openings
as carpenters of ancient times used to do.
In this way we have made sideboards, tables,
bookcases, TV-and hifi-units to furnish houses in
different styles and of different cultures.
With the PATCHWORK collection we wish to present a
design aimed at daily cultured life.
