Born out of sketches from the mystic mind of Modular designer Jeffrey
Huyghe, the idea of Placebo quickly became a product family. Placebo isn’t
just one luminaire. Two shapes, each in 2 sizes, and all 4 offer 2 lighting
possibilities. Placebo is a multitude of playful general lighting luminaires for
residential, hospitality and small retail spaces..
Playful Placebo effect
8 models to play with! Can you even wrap your head around the trail of
possibilities? Imagine a row or flock of hanging Placebos, above a dining
room table or a long counter space. Alternating between up and down lights,
a tube shape or a ball shape. Creating patterns galore, this Placebo effect
brings pure pleasure.
A feast of mix & match
The aluminium LED unit of all models is available in white and black structure,
anodised gold, champagne, bronze, silver bronze and black. If you can
manage to decide on a finish, move on to choosing a tube shape or a ball
shape, each in 2 sizes, with an up or downwards light effect. Also, will it be
gear included or excluded? You can choose it all. How’s that for modularity?
Complexity in disguise
Deceptively simple in appearance, this pendant light hides intriguing features.
How can both up and down lights look so identical? Hint: the up light reveals a
small hole at the top of the glass. So why then, can’t we see the cable through
the glass? A 3-layered, hand blown glass does the trick.
