Questa fantastica storia ci porta lontano:
si era appena fatta l’unità d’Italia, si parlava il Volgare,
si scriveva in latino e gli artigiani realizzavano innumerevoli prodotti.
Ogni prodotto era una creazione ed ogni bottega un laboratorio dove affinare tecniche
ed istruire nuovo personale.
É in una di queste botteghe che è iniziata la nostra fantastica storia e quella della nostra famiglia,
fortemente legate fra loro.
Francesco Avenanti, maestro artigiano, iniziò producendo mobili
e non sappiamo se fu suo padre o qualche altro maestro ad insegnargli questa arte,
sappiamo però che era il lontano 1870.
La bottega veniva illuminata da una fioca candela
e si sfruttava soprattutto la luce del giorno per lavorare.
Venivano prodotti mobili d’uso quotidiano, ma anche qualche bell’oggetto
che andava ad arredare le case dei signorotti del luogo, le curie e a volte anche le chiese.
Le tecniche di lavorazione erano già molto affinate
e la cura dei particolari dimostrava ottima preparazione.
Fu suo figlio Pompeo, personaggio simpatico e creativo, a continuare il lavoro del padre.
Le lavorazioni venivano realizzate con le stesse tecniche,
sempre con molta attenzione nell’esecuzione e con eccezionale maestria.
Fu così anche per i figli di Pompeo, Francesco ed Emilio.
Nella bottega arrivò l’energia elettrica
mentre Francesco stava insegnando il lavoro ai suoi giovani figli Eolo e Giacomo.
Questi importante evento stimolò i due fratelli a creare qualcosa di nuovo
ed in poco tempo inventarono una macchina.
La realizzarono in legno, abbinato al metallo degli utensili,
ed anche se oggi può sembrare insolito,
fu proprio una macchina costruita in legno ad introdurre la tecnologia nella bottega Avenanti:
la macchina era in effetti così ben studiata che da sola riusciva a realizzare 5 lavorazioni.
Negli ultimi 40 anni le cose sono cambiate velocemente dal punto di vista tecnologico,
ma la filosofia Avenanti è sempre rimasta la stessa:
produrre mobili fatti in legno,
nel rispetto della tradizione artigiana e di quella cultura ebanista
che in questi 150 anni di stori hanno caratterizzato il lavoro della nostra famiglia.

Italy had been just unified and people speak Vulgar and write in Latin and artisans made lots of products.
Each product was a creation and each workshop was a laboratory where the techniques were improved and new workers were taught.
Our fantastic story began just in one of these workshops, the story of our very bound together family.
Francesco Avenanti, a master-artisan, started producing furniture and we are not sure if he was been taught by his father or by somebody else. The one thing certain is that it was 1870. A faint candle
lighted the workshop. They usually work during the daylight, producing furniture for everyday use as well as some special piece to furnish the house of certain wealthy men of the place or the curia and
sometimes the churches. The processing techniques were already well refined and the attention to details showed a great skill.
The son Pompeo, a nice and skilful person, continued his father’s job. Workings were made always with the same techniques and with great attention and mastery in the execution. The same made
Pompeo’ sons, Francesco and Emilio.
It was the period when the electric power was discovered, when Francesco was teaching his young sons Eolo and Giacomo.
This important event took the two brothers to create something new, so they fabricate a machine to help them in their work. They made a wooden carcase combined with metal tools and we can hardly
believe, that it was just this simple machinery which brought new technologies within Avenanti’s workshop. It was so well thought-out that it could alone carry out 5 different processes.
During last 40 years things have been changing very fast, as far as technologies are concerned. Nevertheless the philosophy of Avenanti family remains the same: producing wooden furniture, following
the artisan tradition and the craftwork culture, which have been distinguishing the work of our family during its last 150 years of story.
