ELASTICA STUDIO HABITS
L’idea di Elastica è nata in modo
sperimentale... Una sera nel fablab
dello studio, sommersi dai prototipi
in allestimento per la partecipazione
al Fuorisalone presso Super Studio,
ne osservavamo uno in particolare.
Da tempo avevamo tentato di mettere
a punto una lampada tessile terra-
cielo. Avevamo rocchetti di elastici
per bretelle usati per il prototipo terra-
cielo e pensando a come sfruttarne le
proprietà meccaniche abbiamo pensato
che l’elasticità potesse diventare
una metafora dell’intensità per una
innovativa esperienza di modulazione
della luminosità. L’indomani ci siamo
procurati un sensore di forza, un board
per la prototipazione elettronica, una
striscia LED e l’elastico, appunto.
The idea of Elastica was born in an
experimental way...
On an evening in the studio’s fablab,
overwhelmed by prototypes being
prepared for participation in the
Fuorisalone at Super Studio, we were
looking at one in particular. For a long
time we had been trying to develop
a ground-sky textile lamp. We had
spools of elastic braces used for the
ground-sky prototype and were thinking
about how to exploit their mechanical
properties. We thought that elasticity
could become a metaphor for intensity
in an innovative light modulation
experience. The next day we got a
force sensor, a board for electronic
prototyping, a LED strip and the elastic
band, indeed.
