The building, one of the most important li-
sted monuments in Amsterdam, in 2020 was
completely renovated. MATH architecten
was responsible for the structural renova-
tion while the interiors featuring new inter-
ventions and finishes were designed by de-
sign office i29.
The biggest challenge was to bring this old
building into a new approach, combining
technology, installations and acoustic faci-
lities with appearance and experience. Our
Pila chairs are a refreshing addition to the
interior but express respect for history.
