Stitches
Created by Egbert-Jan Lam of Netherlands-based
Burojet Design Studio, Stitches is a family of two
well-hemmed pendants: Tombuctú and Bamako.
Each light is named after a city or town in Mali,
West Africa. Mali has a long history as a producer
of embroidery; its many skilled artisans found
throughout Tombuctú and Bamako are adept at
needlework.
The Stitches pendants impart an appealing
bohemian air, their warm wood veneer panels
embroidered with peeping threads of light.
Crafted with passion and precision, Tombuctú and
Bamako hint at the simple beauty found in Malian
embroidery.
