A Gioconda between Dada and Pop Art. Collections inspired
by the greatest works of art in history. Lucifero Illuminazione
introduces a copyrighted line of lamps.
Mona Lisa has been made up by Duchamp (with no mustache though!). She wears Depero outfit
clothes while walking hand in hand with ladies from the sixteenth century’s Flanders who carry
the experience of the Bauhaus Art period. Models are framed by Lucifero Illuminazione for the
launch of the Upset Design lamps series: playful commingling POP for a line of lamps and wall
lightings that aims at stirring references coming from centuries of Art history. The absolute heroine
could not be anybody else other than the “Mona Lisa”, but the scope is exceptionally broad. The
references range from the tradition of Flemish painting and the historical avant-garde period to the most
representative figures of the twentieth century. It is a filtering game between Surrealism and
Dadaism, Futurism and the Mondrian abstraction styles. Lucifero Illuminazione Showroom is
located in an old mill along the Dora River in Rivoli (TO) Italy. His connections include leading
figures from the art world such as Michelangelo Pistoletto and Achille Bonito Oliva. Lucifero plays
with the iconography of the angel bearer of light to illuminate with art splinters – not only in a
figurative way - the world of product design.
