The latest LED technology brings “back to light” a historic and ingenious Luceplan design: the Tibibi lamp by Alberto Meda, created in 1993, has been reissued with a very high-effi ciency 18W LED source capable of supplying an extraordinary quantity of indirect light with low energy consumption. The lamp will be available as a limited edition of 500 pieces signed by the designer, reprising the original tones but updating them in a contemporary way.
The constructive idea is very simple: a pentagonal body composed of a sequence of five identical stems in anodized aluminium sheet that function as the base, body and head.
The name of the lamp, Tibibi, indicates its assembly operation: “to be bonded”. In the first edition, in fact, the volume of the lamp – a pentagonal solid – was obtained by bending and fastening the five pieces with a special structural adhesive band.
One of the strips is in blue or yellow, allowing the user to position the lamp for a view of the colored side or of the monochrome aluminium side.
