The wall lamp created by Francisco Gomez Paz is the result of a major, complex innovation: injection moulding technology applied to a Fresnel lens.
“Illusion is the outcome of the work done with Luceplan in recent years, a series of experiments and research, starting with products we have already made together, and representing the first step towards the development of future projects”. This is how Francisco Gomez Paz, one of the designers of reference of Luceplan today, explains the birth of Illusion, which like Hope (Compasso d’Oro 2011, created by Gomez together with Paolo Rizzatto) makes use of the optical effects of Fresnel lenses.
AN INNOVATIVE WALL LAMP
The company asked the designer to make an LED wall lamp for major energy savings: to obtain the same quantity of light with 17 watts of power that would normally be obtained with 150.
IMAGE AND ADVANTAGES
Much slimmer than a traditional applique, Illusion consumes less. The image of a sphere captured in a square is generated by the optical effect of the Fresnel lens, since the body of the lamp is flat, with a thickness of just 4 centimeters. Illusion marks another important step forward for Luceplan in the area of technological and formal innovation for lighting fixtures.
