THE ICONIC
THREE-SHADE LAMP
The three-shade lamp designed by Poul Henningsen was introduced in 1926
and has since become an icon. In a time of fabric lampshades, Henningsen had
a very innovative approach to lighting design, using mathematics to ensure
pleasant and glare-free light. These principles have gone on to lay the foundations
for Louis Poulsen’s design philosophy.
