The sheer magnitude of this spectacular sculpture does
not take away from the various scenes taking place in it.
Lavishly dressed ladies with beautiful hats and parasols;
elegant gentlemen with refined manners; the contentment
of the train driver and the diligence of the conductor; porters
carrying heavy luggage; enthusiastic children excited by the
prospect of a special event and even a little dog running
along the platform.
A work of such large dimensions and extreme complexity
requires a lot of work and dedication. Its 334 fragments
were decorated by expert hands who have reproduced
to perfection the typical designs of the early days of the
steam train.
La magnitud de esta espectacular escultura no resta
protagonismo a las escenas que en ella acontecen. Señoritas
ataviadas con vistosos trajes, luciendo hermosos tocados y
sombrillas de la época; elegantes señores de educadas maneras;
la satisfacción del conductor y la diligencia del ferroviario;
mozos transportando las pesadas maletas; niños con el habitual
entusiasmo ante un acontecimiento especial e incluso una
mascota correteando por el andén.
Una obra de tan grandes dimensiones y extremada complejidad
requiere mucho trabajo y dedicación. Sus 334 fragmentos han
sido ornamentados por manos expertas que han reproducido
a la perfección los motivos típicos de aquella primera época
pionera de los trenes de vapor.
