Focussing on the imperative need for comfort, the design of these new Living Divani upholstered pieces by Piero Lissoni is based partly on form and partly on the introduction of special mechanisms to achieve that sense of comfort and completeness that is an inherent part of the company’s DNA and the basis of its success throughout the world. These two factors form the basis of research carried out by Piero Lissoni, who has worked in parallel on the two concepts, without ever losing sight of one to the detriment of the other, while maintaining the high level of quality that is typical of every Living Divani upholstered piece.
The X-Box project is also being developed following the principle of product mutation. Fitted with a padded bolster, normally inserted in a special hollow inside the backrest structure, the sofa changes its configuration as the use of the bolster is varied. If the bolster is positioned on the end of the backrest, suitably wrapped in the piece of fabric designed to conceal it, the backrest height is increased, providing a more structured seat action to prevent incorrect posture of the back. When the bolster is not used, the backrest retains its original dimensions and the sofa its characteristics as a comfortable piece of well-designed furniture, in common with all Living Divani products. A light, steel tube frame that supports a padded structure featuring clean, strong lines, reduced proportions due to the thickness of the backrest and armrests combined with a comfortable seat of more ample size.
2, 3 or 4-seater sofa. Modular units in different sizes are also available (RH or LH end units, long seat, centre or corner units). One-piece frame in double-panelled poplar and pine. Seat with painted steel frame and sprung base with coated rubber elastic straps. Padding in differentiated density polyurethane foam. Inner cover made of acrylic fibre bonded onto a polyamide velveteen backing. Seat cushions in prewashed and sterilized goose down with insert in visco-soft “Xtra-pur” polyurethane. Back cushions in prewashed and sterilized goose down. A cylindrical bolster is inserted in the backrest structure; when this bolster is positioned on top of the structure, it increases the height of the backrest support by 13 cm. Chromed steel feet. The covering may be in leather or fabric. The covers of the fabric version are fully removable.
Seat depth 75 cm.
