Patricia
Urquiola
Patricia Urquiola lives and works in Milan,
where her professional carrer has been shaped by the
fathers of the Milanese school, Munari, Bettinelli and
Achille Castiglioni.
In 1991 she started working for Maddalena
De Padova, there she met Vico Magistretti,
with whom she will cooperate later on.
In 1998 she began her creative partnership with
Moroso. In 2001 she opened her own design studio in
Milan focusing on design, installations and
architecture. As a designer she has been working with
dozens of different companies, including Agape, Alessi,
B & B Italy, Driade, Flos, Foscarini, Kartell, Molteni,
Rosenthal and Cassina. Some of her products are
exhibited in the permanent collections of the MoMA in
New York and other museums.
She was awarded Designer of the Year
by Wallpaper and Elle Deco magazines, and Designer
of the Decennium 2000-2010 by German magazines
Home and Häuser. She received, in addition, the Red
Dot Award and the Chicago Athenaeum Good Design
Awards. Solo exhibitions of her work have been
showcased in museums around the world.

Tortoioli Ricci
Born in Perugia in 1964, he completed his
secondary education at the ISIA art school in Urbino
in 1987. A student of Provinciali and Hohenneger;
he worked as art director at Studio Dolcini Associati
in Pesaro from 1989 to 1992. In 1992 he founded and
directed the Bcpt Associati Studio in Perugia, where
he developed projects with a corporate identity and
branding. In 2003 he set up the Co.Mo.Do cooperative.
He is still the chairman of the cooperative and
developed training, research, ethical communication
and social innovation projects.
The cooperative does not have an exact head
office and currently works as a network with 11
members. It focuses on designing visual identity
systems and systems with a special reference
to communication for local areas and places.
He was twice a national advisor of AIAP, from
2000 to 2006. Projects by Bcpt Associati were selected
by the ADI Design Index observatory in 2001, 2004,
2005 and 2009.
Matteo Thun + Partners is a multicultural
architecture and design studio. The Milan based
headquarter is acting on an International scale on
projects from hospitality to residential and retail, urban
design and masterplanning since 20 years. A profound
respect for the individuality of brands and locations

architectural, interior and lighting. The work of the

hospes) and the wellbeing is at the core of Matteo
Thun + Partners projects. This also determines the
studio’s healthcare projects where the relationship
between patients and their physical environment
is the point of departure.
