FORMS
At nightfall, the shadows and chiaroscuro created by artificial lighting
can be deliberately manipulated to give depth and meaning to the whole
complex, or to 'bring out' the anatomy of statuesque bodies from the
darkness, emphasising their physicality through the appropriate play of
light and shadow. The enhancement of the forms and characteristics of
statues and symbolic monuments can only be achieved through an in-
depth analysis of the material they are made of, their interaction with the
general/environmental lighting, and the desired scenic effect.
