ACHIEVING THE IDEAL FUSION OF
FORM, FUNCTION & ENDURANCE
ACHIEVING MATERIAL HARMONY
One of the remarkable aspects of LED technology is its superior effi-
ciency as a light source in today's world. However, in order to maximize
its performance, LED lighting necessitates a distinct design approach.
When LEDs are activated, a portion of their energy is converted into
heat during the conversion process. Without proper cooling, LEDs can
quickly burn out, significantly reducing their lifespan.
To address this issue, we have developed an innovative solution by
attaching LEDs to aluminium. This integration allows the metal to
absorb and dissipate the heat generated by the LED chips across
a larger surface area. Consequently, the lifespan of the LEDs is extended,
ensuring their optimal functionality.
EMBRACING DESIGN FOR DISASSEMBLY
At LIGHT-POINT, we are committed to fostering a more circular economy.
Since 1995, all our products have utilized aluminium as the core material,
recognizing its exceptional characteristic of being Infinitely Recyclable.
Our products are designed with disassembly in mind, aligning with
the fundamental principles of the Built Positive movement. This move-
ment advocates intentional design practices for buildings and products,
promoting material recovery, value retention, and meaningful next use.
Each and every product we manufacture can be efficiently disassembled
for recycling at the end of its lifespan.

"Around 75% of the almost 1.5 billion tonnes of
aluminium ever produced is still in productive use today.
Recycling aluminium requires up to 95% less energy
than production from ore, avoiding emissions,
including greenhouse gases."
