Tamis è un setaccio che trattiene la materia più minuta, generando una puntinatura casuale
che, sporcandola, disegna la superficie con pazienza. Un pattern senza schema predefinito e
senza ordine che, nell’accostamento di più lastre ceramiche, evidenzia un equilibrio delicato,
difficile da raggiungere.
L’ordine ambiguo delle cose.
Al contrario di Tamis, Oakland gioca con la regolarità, attraverso una puntinatura più corposa
organizzata in filamenti. Ma solo per smentirla subito. Sembra stabilire l’alto e il basso ma
consente di invertirli a piacimento, definisce un pieno e un vuoto ma ne sfuma il confine. Una
pioggia che cessa o che va a cominciare? Una cortina che si dilegua o che si sta addensando?
In the sieve of matter.
Tamis is a sieve that withholds the smallest matter, producing a random speckling effect
which, contaminating it, patiently designs the surface. A pattern without predefined motif
and without order that, in combining multiple ceramic slabs, highlights a delicate equilibrium
that is difficult to attain.
The ambiguous order of things.
As opposed to Tamis, Oakland plays with regularity, through a more substantial speckling
effect arranged in filaments. But only to contradict itself in the next moment. It seems to
establish high and low, but allows one to invert them at will, it defines positive and negative
space but blurs the boundary. Rain that is just ending or just beginning? A barrier that is
dissipating or becoming thicker?

Between symmetry and asymmetry.
Designed by Patrick Norguet, the two Pad decorations propose their versions of the
cement effect finish on ceramic slabs with a pure graphic design that looks in two
opposing directions at the same time, bringing together order and disorder. Available
in all of the collection’s colours, Tamis and Oakland add a deliberate chromatic
component that enhances the value of the sensory experience.
