The dynamically-lit glass sculpture titled
Symphony spans three fl oors of the Dubai
Opera’s main foyer. Much like the entire
building, designed by Janus Rostock of Atkins
and resembling a traditional dhow boat,
the sculpture was inspired by Dubai’s rich
maritime past. It is composed of thousands of
individually-crafted glass pearls and its shape
resembles that of fi shing nets rising through
the depths of the sea in a vortex of swirling
bubbles.
