The “And Why Not!”
light sculpture was aptly
named by its creator René
Roubíček, referring to his
lifelong experimentation
and exploration into
form and composition
within glass. Roubíček
is a Czech icon in the
field of glass design.
His work continues to
be showcased in many
galleries worldwide.
“And Why Not!” was
created as a dynamic,
spacial sculpture that
remains timeless and
youthful – even after
20+ years. Perhaps
it is because of the way
light glides sleekly through
the polished cylinders
of the sculpture when
lit. The lighting becomes
a colossal, albeit refined,
fixture and a distinctive
experience.
“And Why Not!” fits
perfectly in a conference
hall, uplifting a four-
walled room into
a space of stature
and prominence.
