THE DOURO HOUSE
Renowned for his visionary architectural skills, Eduardo Souto
de Moura was born in 1952 in Porto. His journey began under the
mentorship of Álvaro Siza Vieira, where he developed his craft
and shaped his unique design philosophy.
As a recent graduate, Moura stunned the architectural world by
winning the competition for the “Centro Cultural da Secretaria
de Estado da Cultura in Porto” (Cultural Centre of the State
Secretary for Culture in Porto), a pivotal moment in his career.
This achievement was a milestone, launching him onto the world
stage and establishing his name at the forefront of the new
generation of architects all over Portugal and beyond.
Today, we celebrate his legacy - one that continues to inspire awe
and admiration among enthusiasts of architectural innovation.
