Wood. For the first time: using an industrial process,
Kartell works with wood from certified forests,
with minimum consumption of raw material for
each structural component of the product. A special
patent ensures that only a very fine layer of wood is
used, moulded to the take 3D curving to the very
edge of the panel in two directions, horizontally
and vertically, conveying three-dimensionality to
the product and creating curves like never before.
For the Smart Wood collection, Kartell has obtained
FSC™ (Forest Stewardship Council) certification,
which identifies products containing wood from forests
managed correctly and responsibly in compliance with
strict environmental, social and economic standards.
The forests are controlled and assessed independently
in conformity with the standards (principles and criteria
of best practice forest management) established and
approved by the Forest Stewardship Council™ a.c. with
the participation and consent of all stakeholders. The
wood itself is sourced from FSC certified forests, with
guaranteed origin and forestry management methods.
