BOXED
A standard box cushion has a flat
top, flat bottom and four sides that
are created by sewing a separate
piece of fabric to connect the top
and bottom. It can be any shape:
round, square, rectangular or cut to
a particular shape, such as a bay
window seat, for example.
KNIFE EDGE
A knife edge cushion style is made
by sewing the top and bottom
fabric panels together to make
a more traditional sewing seam,
which is mid-height on the sides of
the cushion.
WATERFALL
These cushions have one piece of
fabric that wraps around the top,
front and bottom of the cushion and
provides a nice smooth, rounded
front without any seams. The sides
and back have boxing.
CHANNELED
Channeled cushions are knife-edge
cushions which have had their
internal filling material quilted into
the cover material in channels.
FILL
HR
This fill is polyurethane foam that
has 2.5 pounds per cubic foot
density. It is the highest quality
foam used for outdoor seating.
RETICULATED
Reticulated foam is polyurethane
foam with open cells, allowing
liquids to pass through rather than
becoming trapped inside.
IMO
IMO foam is reticulated foam that
has been combustion modified
to qualify for use in maritime
installations.
SHREDDED FOAM
Shredded HR and reticulated foam is used
to either meet certain specifications, or for
cushions that have an intentionally worn-in
appearance. The material is supportive
yet conforms well to any frame shape.
DACRON/BONDED POLYESTER
Dacron or bonded polyester is polyester
fiber that has been bonded together into
a sheet, giving the plushness of polyester
fill while not shifting around the way a
loose fill would.
STANDARD FILL
A pillow fill made of polyester
fiber, standard fill is both light and
supportive.
LEVEL II FILL
Level II fill is a pillow fill made of
extra-fine polyester fiber that has a
weighty and luxurious feel.
PREMIUM FILL
Premium fill is a pillow fill made of
clustered polyester fiber that has greater
longevity and a medium weight with
good support.
