Marble
The word “marble” comes from the Greek and means “shining stone”, is known, besides for its aesthetic beauty, for
its mechanical characteristics since it has a high durability in time, this is why artists, sculptors and architects have
used this material both in the artistic and architectural fields. It’s a natural stone, precisely a metamorphic rock made
of calcium carbonate.
The Marble still amazes for its unique colors, more or less intense, grains. Nature gives us unique materials, small
works of art, which are worked with skill to create unique pieces.
We are accustomed to seeing the Marble thanks to its use in the numerous works of art that surround us in our Bel-
Paese, we are fascinated by the great sculptors of the past, the works pervaded by passion, the ability to transform
such a durable material in time, in apparently delicate and surprisingly light works.
Do we know where the marble came from?
The Marble is extracted from the Cave, with techniques, which have developed enormously in the last hundred and
fifty years. The “bancata” of marble is cut and physically detached from the Mountain, all this happens with great care
and preparation, so that there is the least possible waste and the “cultivation” of the quarry can continue in a regular
way. There are many uses we can make, Art, Construction, Furnishing, Urban Planning
