Mir sind Details sehr wichtig, das war schon
immer so. Vielleicht war das auch mit ein
Grund, warum ich ausgerechnet diesen Beruf
gewählt habe. Man kann hier mit kleinen Nu-
ancen so viel bewirken. Oft ist es beim Einrich-
ten und Gestalten eine Gratwanderung zwi-
schen „too much“ und „too less“. Für mich
sind es Signatur Pieces, die einer
Gestaltung den letzten Schliff
verleihen.
Am
liebsten
habe ich es, wenn es
Design-Stücke sind,
die ich modular kon-
zipieren und noch
ganz
individuell
auf den zukünfti-
gen
Benutzen-
den zu schneiden
kann. Wenn ich
also dem Möbel
durch
meine
Kreativität
den
letzten Schliff ver-
leihen darf. Ein
modulares Möbel zu
entwickeln,
das
in
jeder individuellen Konfi-
guration immer dem ur-
sprünglichen
Designkonzept
entspricht, ist ein unglaublich kom-
plexer Vorgang. Die absolute Reduktion auf
das Wesentliche, auf das Charakter spenden-
de Detail muss bei der Urgestaltung stimmen,
dann funktionieren auch die Varianten. Wenn
das gelungen ist, ist es einfach nur großartig.
Details are very important to me, they always
have been. Perhaps that was one of the rea-
sons why I chose this profession of all things.
You can achieve so much with small nuances.
When furnishing and designing, it’s often a bal-
ancing act between “too much” and “too less”.
For me, it’s signature pieces that add the fin-
ishing touches to a design. I like it
best when they are design
pieces that I can create
modularly and personal-
ise for the future user.
In other words, when
I can use my crea-
tivity to put the fin-
ishing touches to
the furniture. De-
veloping modu-
lar furniture that
always
corre-
sponds
to
the
original
design
concept in every
individual configu-
ration is an incredibly
complex process. The
absolute reduction to the
essentials, to the charac-
ter-giving detail, must be right
in the original design, then the vari-
ants will also work. When this has been
achieved, it is simply marvellous.
