Martha Spak is a self-taught artist and is best known for her
ethereal paintings. Her inspiration comes from everywhere
~ a vivid sunset, tranquil water, or a beautiful keepsake from
traveling or a family heirloom. Each painting portrays a mood.
She paints in acrylics building the surface with layers of thin
translucent glazes to create depth with each stroke. Martha
opened the Martha Spak Gallery in Washington, DC in 2017
where she exhibits her work and other local artists. She is an art
speaker and has taught landscape painting at the Yellow Barn
Studio at Glen Echo Park, MD.
