EN Tommaso Caldera (Milano, 1986) – Born in 1986, he graduated in Industrial Design at the
Design Department of the Milan Polytechnic. Between 2008 - 2012 he's been working as Junior
and Senior Designer at Odo Fioravanti Design Studio, moving later to New York at the Jonathan
Olivares Design Studio. In 2012 starts his own studio working with Italian design company, in
the same year first products as a freelance designer have been shown at the Salone del Mobile.
In September 2013 he's been selected by the Italian Cultural Institute in New York as Top Young
Industrial Designer. Since 2016, he’s been supporting his design activity with teaching and wri-
ting. The studio, based in Pavia, works on product design and art direction for Italian and inter-
national companies. / IT Tommaso Caldera (Milano, 1986) – Nato nel 1986, si laurea nel 2012 in
Disegno Industriale al Politecnico di Milano. Tra il 2008 e il 2012 collabora come Junior e Senior
Designer nello studio Odo Fioravanti a Milano, per poi spostarsi a New York nello studio di Jo-
nathan Olivares. Nel 2012 apre il proprio studio e inizia la collaborazione con aziende del Design
italiano che lo porta a presentare al Salone del Mobile dello stesso anno i primi pezzi da Desi-
gner Indipendente. Nel Settembre 2013 viene selezionato dall'Istituto Italiano di Cultura di New
York come Top Young Industrial Designer. Dal 2016 affianca all’attività di progettazione quella
di docenza e scrittura. Lo studio, con sede a Pavia, si occupa di design del prodotto e art di-

Il est diplômé en 2012 en Dessin Industriel à l’École Polytechnique de Milan. Entre 2008 et 2012,
il travaille comme designer junior et senior au studio Odo Fioravanti à Milan, puis se déplace à
New York dans le studio de Jonathan Olivares. En 2012, il ouvre son propre studio et commence
à collaborer avec des entreprises de design italien qui l’amène à présenter au Salon du meuble
de la même année les premières pièces comme designer indépendant. En septembre 2013, il est
sélectionné par l’Institut Italien de la Culture de New York comme Top Young Industrial Designer.
Depuis 2016, il accompagne l’activité de conception avec celle d’enseignement et d’écriture. Le
studio, basé à Pavie, s’occupe de design du produit et de direction artistique pour des entrepri-
ses italiennes et internationales.
