The cosmopolitan home
At the Salone del Mobile.Milano, HORM presented the Plaza
collection, designed by architect Marco Piva, a metaphorical
journey through the most iconic squares of European capitals,
and the Aira family of lamps, conceived by the creative mind of
Marcantonio.
Innovation and interpretation are the two guidelines of a fluid
design path, which saw Marco Piva and Horm together for the
first time in the design of a collection with an Italian soul and a
cosmopolitan style, transversal to the different contexts of living.
The combination of materials of excellent quality combined
with the unmistakable signature of Made in Italy design, has
resulted in harmonious furniture pieces such as tables, chairs,
sideboards, desks and consoles that blend in with the spaces
of contemporary living, from residential to hotellerie. The fine
finishes are expressed in soft, flowing lines that make each room
cosy and pleasant to live in, thanks to a design that combines
aesthetics and comfort.
The desire to create a home that is both functional and exclusive
has led Horm to collaborate with Marcantonio on the Aira
project, a lamp that brings nature into the home, creating a new
image of beauty that can go beyond the classic patterns of luxury.
“In many cultures — says Marcantonio— the branch of a tree
is always loaded with very important symbolic values linked to
Nature and Spirituality. The idea of transforming a branch into
a light source stems from the desire to amplify this positive value
and create a functional object that can at the same time act as a
stimulus for the soul”.
