Intelligent presence detection
For complete and energy efficient room control with the KNX system, there are
automatic switches, presence detectors and brightness controllers available. Gira KNX
presence detectors installed on the ceiling control the function of the KNX system via
the presence of persons, while the Gira KNX brightness sensor controls the lighting
dependent on the ambient brightness. Gira KNX automatic switches in switch design,
on the other hand, are infrared motion detectors for indoor use.
Settings and control via infrared remote control
The Gira KNX presence detector Comfort carries its name for good
reason because in addition to the functions that can be configured
via KNX, it also offers the possibility for convenient settings and
operation via infrared remote control. This enables the installer to
set certain parameters of the presence detector, such as the
sensitivity or the brightness threshold, directly on site. The end
user can, for example, manually switch on the room light with
the remote control and later reactivate the automatic mode.

Switching lights, heating or ventilation on and off automatically or
triggering functions when a person enters or leaves the room – Gira
enables the operation of entire systems via various switch ranges.

Controlling various devices by presence
The Gira KNX presence detectors Standard Mini and Comfort Mini
allow fully-automatic and semi-automatic control of various func-
tions in the KNX system, depending on the presence of persons in
the room. For example light, heating, or ventilation can be
controlled exactly as needed and to save power. In addition, the
presence detectors can adapt their control to the behaviour of
the users. Gira KNX presence detectors are available as flush-
mounted or surface-mounted versions.

The new Gira presence detectors Mini, Standard and Comfort
register even the slightest movement in a room. The Gira KNX
presence detectors Mini control functions such as lighting, heating
or air-conditioning systems in the KNX system to respond to
people's presence or absence — as needed and saving energy.
The innovative casing concept enables universal application: For
ceiling installation, as a flush-mounted or surface-mounted version
and also for outdoor use - depending on the mounting kit. The
KNX presence detectors Mini can be used as a single device or
combined with other Gira KNX presence detectors to be used as
main and auxiliary units.
