Visualising and controlling intelligent building technology
The Gira HomeServer / FacilityServer is the on-board computer for intelligent buildings.
It allows all building technology networked in the KNX system to be controlled and
visualised across different systems in private or commercial properties. This makes it
possible to integrate additional technologies like door intercoms, cameras or audio
systems into the building control. Operation is via the Gira Control Clients, a smartphone,
tablet or PC. Regardless of your location, nearly all control functions are available and
can be monitored at any time.
Central control of intelligent home technology – at home or
while away
The Gira Home Server enables all building technology to be
controlled centrally using various control devices such as the
Gira Control Clients, smartphones, tablets or computer – at
home or while away. This makes the system a valuable addition
to classic KNX control devices, giving you a constant overview
of the entire building control.
Diverse application options for more convenience, security,
and energy efficiency
The Gira interface for visualising and controlling buildings can be
fully adapted to the individual preferences and requirements of the
residents. Diverse application possibilities: Central control of
lighting, blinds, and heating; room scenes; multimedia
entertainment in all rooms; panic switches; occupancy simulation;
alarm systems; requirements-based energy management;
evaluation of consumption data; lighting colour control; email
messaging; push notifications, and much more.
Degrees of freedom in the presentation
The individually designed visualisation of a building can be called
up not only via the Home Server Client, but also via a web browser.
Presentation in perspective or navigating the floor plan: The many
degrees of freedom in presenting rooms and floors in a building
permit the creation of a tailor-made operating concept.
Individual user interface design
The Gira HomeServer permits full individual visualisation and
control of buildings via freely configurable user interfaces. Thanks
to its flexibility and exceptionally wide performance range, virtually
all customer preferences can be met giving planning security
for projects of the most diverse dimensions, ranging from an
apartment to large purpose-built structures.

The Gira AppShop
The Gira AppShop is the market place for apps relating to all Gira's products for
intelligent building systems. More than 200 apps are available from the Gira AppShop.
These include function templates, plug-ins and logic nodes for implementing specific
applications. The apps have already been defined and can be easily integrated. This
allows you to configure your projects more efficiently using tried-and-tested modules.
More detailed explanations of sample apps can be found below.
Function templates
These are visualisation elements of the Gira interface that allow you
not only to control functions, but also to visualise their status. In
the Gira AppShop you can find additional function templates for the
Gira interface, which you can use to complement the software
supplied with the Gira HomeServer. These include, for example, the
audio function template, which makes it easy to operate audio and
multi-room systems.

One marketplace. All the opportunities.
In the Gira AppShop, you can easily download apps for Gira
products that have been pre-programmed and tested. This will save
you time on your own projects, for example during the planning
phase. It is a unique marketplace within the industry which
provides you with specialist service and marketing tools to allow
you to work more productively.

Logic nodes
These are used to implement logical switching functions or
workflows. Logic nodes make it easier for you to implement
customers' requirements, as they cover a wide range of different
application areas. They are configured in the graphical logic editor
of the Gira HomeServer Expert software. For example, you can
automate the process of watering the garden to save time and
water. This is possible because the logic node decides
independently when and to what extent lawn sprinklers and
irrigation systems should be activated.

Plug-ins
These are additional control elements that can be used to visualise
and manage a variety of applications. Plug-ins are configured in
the Gira HomeServer Expert software. New plug-ins are constantly
being added to the Gira AppShop. For example, there is a plug-in
for visualising, managing and operating a Vaillant heater via the
Gira interface. All the plug-ins in the Gira AppShop complement
the software supplied with the Gira HomeServer.
