ROTUNDA
BOOKEND
The shape of these bookends pays homage
to the public library of Stocklhom, the masterpiece
of Gunnar Asplund.
The intersection between circle and square is a recurring
motif related to knowledge, as in the case of
the Vitruvian Man: mankind can fill every shape
it wishes, both geometrically and philosophically.
Here, the heaviness of the brass cylinder seamlessly
connected to the leather-covered square does more
than just keeping books in order, adding meaning
to any collection displayed in one's home library.
