CONO BY JOSÉ A. GANDÍA-BLASCO CANALES
Hanging or above the ground, the CONO pergola is a unique and striking shelter reminiscent of
teepees, and seamlessly blends with its natural surroundings. Created by José A. Gandía-Blasco
Canales, it is part of GANDIABLASCO’s Outdoor Spaces collection. A line inspired by Greco-Latin
culture and certain nomadic tribes that, over its 20-year history, has redefined the aesthetics of
contemporary outdoor environments.
“The purpose of the CONO pergola is similar to that of the original TIPI, but
with a very different construction design. Its aim is to create a captivating
and inviting space for people to be inside.” José A. Gandía-Blasco Canales.
The intricate lattice of the CONO pergola structure is crafted with alternating straps, reminiscent
of a nest. The plush circular mattress is secured to the structure with strategically placed Velcro
fasteners on the underside. During the manufacturing process, all straps are riveted to the lower
tube, while those covering the rods have precise holes to fit onto mini-rods welded to the upper
ring. This meticulous approach blends craftsmanship with industrial methods.
Inside, CONO features built-in and adjustable lighting powered by a re-
chargeable battery. Its expressiveness sparks imagination, inviting various scenarios and uses,
both outdoors and indoors.
Colgada o sobre el suelo, la pérgola CONO es un singular y
llamativo refugio con un formato que recuerda a los tipis y se
integra de manera armoniosa con la naturaleza circundante.
Un diseño de José A. Gandía-Blasco Canales que pertenece
a la colección de Espacios Exteriores de GANDIABLASCO. Una
línea inspirada en la cultura grecolatina y ciertas tribus nóma-
das que, a lo largo de sus 20 años de trayectoria, ha redefini-
do la estética de los ambientes contemporáneos al aire libre.
“La función de la pérgola CONO es la mis-
ma que la del TIPI original, pero con un diseño
constructivo muy distinto. Se trata de crear un
espacio sorprendente y acogedor para estar
en su interior”, José A. Gandía-Blasco Canales.
La envolvente trama de la estructura se elabora a base de
una alternancia de cinchas, evocando la de un nido. La mu-
llida colchoneta circular se asegura a la estructura median-
te velcros estratégicamente ubicados en la parte inferior. En
el proceso de fabricación, todas las cinchas se remachan al
tubo inferior, mientras que aquellas que cubren las varillas
cuentan con orificios precisos para acoplarse a unas mini
varillas soldadas en el aro superior. Este meticuloso enfoque
combina habilidades artesanales con métodos industriales.
En su interior, CONO cuenta con iluminación in-
tegrada y regulable. Por su potente expresividad, CONO invita a
imaginarla en multitud de escenarios y usos distintos, tanto en
exteriores como en interiores.
