Minion
a prestigious unusual collection
M inion collection
The Minion’s collection is composed of small elements adaptable to any space and
location, thanks to the agility given by their size and their simple mobility.
in most cases we can talk about “emphasis” furnishing elements suitable for domestic
interiors that are not so majestic. the small size does not affect but improve the care
for the details an the craftsmanship: as the architect Mies Van der rohe said “less is
more”. so even the underestimated elements of an antiquarian tradition can acquire a
new light and a new value in this type of collection which emphasizes its functionality
and harmony.
the collection, deliberately heterogeneous in style, gains from diverse sources and
eras, always highlighting the stylistic canons: from louis Xiii style (carved armchairs
p127, p324) to the spanish seventeenth century (tables with colums and twisted
elements), from louis XiV (as in the prestigious console n110) and renaissance to
the italian seventeenth century (sideboard c20.01n), the collections represent the
perspectives of Bramante’s altars in the bas-reliefs of the sideboard doors. From Queen
anne style (armchair 21060.1630 and 21060.90) to the chippendale shown in many
items (n21, n5, 21060.1250, 21060.1351), the english regency (V31.01), charles X
style and louis philippe tastes.
the collections are particularly suitable for country settings, where “country” does
not mean to be a style but a way to conceive space and locations, with a special attention
to ease and comfort and to the suggestion of shapes that refer to atmospheres “d’antàn”.
the white lacquered finishes in soft shades of ivory and dust blue increase the
preciousness of the elements.
