On its 25th anniversary, a special edition of Lumiere is coming out making it even more unique and precious. The blown glass diffuser has been given a special mirror-effect metallic finish which matches its unmistakeable tripod shape. And an extra thrill is present here too, as in all Foscarini lamps. When you turn on the lamp the special metallic glass technique used means that the light inside it shines through. It is a learned and sophisticated restyling of the classic bedside lamp, with a precious blown glass diffuser and an unmistakable tripod in die-cast aluminium: Lumiere, created by Rodolfo Dordoni in 1990, retains all the personality and unique characteristics that have made it a classic in the Foscarini catalogue. A quarter of a century later, it has been given a new lease on life, confirming its contemporary appeal and the fresh look of a timeless design.
On the occasion of Euroluce 2015, to celebrate its twenty-fifth birthday, Lumiere has been produced in new unprecedented and contemporary colours. A new hue for the base, which is now also available in a sophisticated champagne colour, is complemented by three new colours for the diffuser: warm white, cherry red and turquoise.
These colours definitely change depending on whether the lamp is on or off, affording further vivacity to an "iconic" model which is nonetheless capable of mesmerising continuously. In addition, a special treatment on the inside of the diffuser makes the light even warmer and softer, emphasising further still all the charm of the blown glass.
