CONCEPT
The design of “The Wing” lounge clearly shows the signature
of the architects’ studio Foster + Partner. A minimalistic, yet
sophisticated space is what distinguishes the VIP lounge. It has
a strong architectural character and all details are meticulously
finished.
The decorative element that welcomes the guests to the lounge
was conceived as a light sculpture that resembles theatre
curtains, those that welcome the artists on the stage and when
necessary hide the space behind.
The idea of the architects was to employ glass to make the
structure appear delicate and light, despite its massive size.

REQUIREMENTS
The Wing is a VIP lounge for passengers
flying in first class with Cathay Pacific.
The service and attention dedicated to
these passengers are the highest possible.
Cathay Pacific needed to build a lounge that
would provide their clients with the best
comforts and treats during their journeys.
Foster + Partners was appointed as the
architects’ studio who was in charge of
developing the project. The architects
presented a very ambitious project for
the entrance of their open-space lounge.
A massive, yet delicate glass sculpture was
the main feature of the lounge.
