Tradition and innovation walked hand in hand within
the Spanish pavilion at the Universal Exposition of
Milan 2015, whose leitmotiv was “Feeding the planet.
Energy for life”. From May 1st to October 31st, millions of
people had the chance to visit this gigantic greenhouse,
exclusively made of natural and recycled materials. Its
impressive structure stretched over a surface of roughly
2,500 m2.
Nicknamed “The language of flavour”, this huge
architectural project, signed by the Barcelona-based
firm b720, Fermín Vázquez Arquitectos, brought
together two fundamental features: environmental
sustainability and efficient energy use. “The project
offers an apparently simple solution to the technical,
spatial, functional and thematic complexity of this
Expo. The plain, moderated geometry of the pavilion
blends in all those qualities our country exports”.
Tradición e innovación se daban la mano en el Pabellón
de España de la Expo Universal de Milán 2015 cuyo
lema era “Alimentar el planeta. Energía para la vida”.
Desde el 1 de mayo hasta el 31 de octubre, millones
de personas tuvieron la oportunidad de visitar este
gigantesco invernadero, cuya imponente estructura,
realizada exclusivamente con materiales naturales
y reciclados, se extendía sobre una superficie de
aproximadamente 2500 m2.
Bautizado como “El Lenguaje del Sabor”, este
ingente proyecto arquitectónico a cargo del estudio
barcelonés b720, Fermín Vázquez Arquitectos, aunaba
otras dos características primordiales: la sostenibilidad
medioambiental y la eficiencia energética: “El proyecto
ofrece una solución aparentemente sencilla a la
complejidad técnica, espacial, funcional y temática de
esta Expo. Un pabellón de geometría clara y contenida,
fusión de las cualidades que nuestro país exporta”.
