The third restaurant opened by Esteban Arnaiz and
Aynara Menchaca, owners of the nearby establishments
El Columpio and Le Cocó is called Random and since
its opening in November 2015 is causing a frenzy in
the genuine district of Chamberí in Madrid.
Random is placed in a magnificent house of the
Almagro neighbourhood, in the same premises the
former restaurant Mosaiq used to occupy, for those who
can recall. Nothing remains, though, of its orientalist
ambitions in this new space, fruit of an absolutely not
hazardous coincidence. It might seem nonsensical but
indeed, as its owner states, Random comes as “the
result of ordering fortuity, of empowering inherent
creativity, of fearing what’s conventional. Because
what’s static and iterative is wearisome and that’s why
in Random we try to be dynamic, aleatory, we escape
from confusion and pursuit good vibes”.

Menchaca, responsables del vecino El Columpio y de
Le Cocó, se llama Random y desde su apertura en
noviembre de 2015 está causando furor en el madrileño
distrito de Chamberí.
Random se ubica en un precioso edificio del barrio
de Almagro, para quienes se acuerden, en el mismo
local que antes ocupara el restaurante Mosaiq. De
las pretensiones orientalistas de aquel, nada queda
en este local, fruto de una casualidad nada azarosa.
Suena paradójico, pero en efecto, tal como explica su
propietario, Random es “el resultado de la casualidad
ordenada, de la creatividad inherente, del miedo a
lo convencional. Porque lo estático y repetitivo es
aburrido, en Random somos dinámicos, aleatorios,
nos alejamos de la confusión y buscamos la diversión”.
