La reconversión del hotel ha sabido fusionar su primigenia
rusticidad con un sofisticado minimalismo que respeta los
muros medievales y recurre a los materiales naturales, como el
mármol y la madera. El predominio de colores suaves y cálidos
puntualiza esta sensación de placidez, tanto en los espacios
comunes como en las doce habitaciones, dotadas de amplias
terrazas panorámicas por donde entra a raudales la luz límpida
y vibrante del Mediterráneo.
Para amueblar una de estas terrazas, con espectaculares
vistas a las montañas de Artà, en las que las cicas, la lavanda y
los olivos circundantes se integran difuminando los límites con
el exterior, se escogieron un sofá y dos sillones pertenecientes a
la colección de outdoor Nido, de Javier Pastor, en acero y cuerda.
Como integrados aparecen también en uno de los espacios
lounge al aire libre, las tres parejas de butacas Twins, de MUT
Design, y los módulos Plump, de Studio expormim, rodeados por
exuberantes aves del paraíso, helechos y ficus y bajo la mirada
vigilante de aquellas que nunca se marcharon: las piedras con
las que un día se levantó el ancestral poblado talayótico.
The restyling of the hotel has wisely fused together its primal
rusticity and a sophisticated minimalism which respects the
medieval walls and makes use of natural materials, such as marble
and wood. The predominance of soft warm colours points out the
sensation of placidity both in the common spaces and the twelve
bedrooms with wide panoramic terraces flooded by the limpid
vibrant light of the Mediterranean.
A sofa and two armchairs belonging to the Nido outdoor
collection designed by Javier Pastor, made in steel and rope, were
picked out to furnish one of these terraces overlooking the Artà
mountains where the surrounding cycads, lavender and olive trees
blend in so fine as to blur the boundaries between the interior
and the exterior space.
Three couples of Twins armchairs by MUT Design and Plump
modules by Studio expormim also seem to be wholly integrated
in one of the open-air lounge areas, framed by exuberant bird of
paradise flowers, ferns and ficus while those who never left cast a
watchful eye on them: the stones that once erected the ancestral
Talaiotic settlement.
