Launch of Infiore at Euroluce — a
product that marks a turning point in
the brand’s design direction, aiming to
attract a younger audience.
That same year, the Dot collection is
introduced, becoming Estiluz’s first
outdoor range.

Design became a strategic element
for Estiluz, which received an
Honourable Mention in the European
Design Management Award (DME).
2012
Estiluz formed its first working
groups to reinforce its commitment
to sustainability, quality, and aligned
partnerships.
2017
With Volta, Estiluz reconnects with
its essence—metal—and establishes
the style that will accompany the
brand from then on: minimalism,
geometry, and pure forms.
2016
Estiluz received its first Red Dot
Award for the Button collection — the
beginning of a series of international
design recognitions, including Delta,
Metropolis Likes, and Best of Year
awards.
2014
Estiluz integrated lighting with
signage and lighting into its designs
to meet the needs of the contract
sector with functional and decorative
solutions.

Gerard Masdeu transformed his
father Anton’s metal workshop into
Estiluz
1980
Designed by Gerard Masdeu in
the 1980s, the Talaiot series was
inspired by the T-shaped megalithic
monuments he encountered during
a holiday in Menorca. This collection
marked the first major turning point
in Estiluz’s history, earning the
brand recognition and driving its
international expansion.
1992
The first Estiluz subsidiary
was established in the United
States, followed in later years by
subsidiaries in France and Germany
1984
Estiluz was one of the founding
companies of SIDI (Society of
Industrial Designers) in Spain.
Its goal was to promote Spanish
industrial design both nationally and
internationally, bringing together
companies committed to innovation
and high-quality design.
1980
To resonate with the international
design scene, Gerard Masdeu
adopted the pseudonym Leonardo
Marelli.

Construction of the first wing of the
new factory
2024
Volta Memphis is a special edition
of the iconic Volta lamp, created to
celebrate Estiluz’s 55th anniversary
while showcasing the brand’s
customization capabilities.
2023
To reduce environmental impact the
company has installed solar panels
for self-consumption.
2020
After COVID-19, Estiluz embraced
biophilia by integrating artificial
plants into its lamps, bringing nature
indoors and fulfilling the desire to
reconnect with it.
1990
With models P-1127 and P-1129, the
pioneering concept of bidirectional
light in a single floor lamp is
introduced.

1996
Gerard Masdeu Jr joins the company,
followed by his sister Marta a few
years later.
2004
To expand and modernize design
offering, in 2004 Estiluz began
collaborating with external designers.
The first partnership came with Ximo
Roca, creator of the Luck pendant.
2008
As the market underwent a major
transformation, Estiluz introduced LED
technology for the first time.
That same year, the brand also
unveiled a redesigned logo and a
renewed corporate identity.
