i sono luoghi in cui il tempo non si limita a
scorrere, ma in qualche modo si manifesta. Si
rende visibile. Si fa respirare. Paestum è uno
di questi luoghi. Con i suoi tre grandi templi
dorici, costruiti fra il VI e il V secolo a.C. e
dedicati alle divinità greche Hera, Atena e Nettuno, Paestum è
al tempo stesso un luogo di culto e un simbolo di potere. Qui il
tempo assume tre diverse maschere, si declina in tre differenti
modi: il tempo storico, il tempo architettonico e il tempo mitico.
Qui l’architettura svela la sua evoluzione, e si fa teatro di una
narrazione in cui dei ed eroi interagivano con gli esseri umani.
Il tempo, qui, si fa pietra e linguaggio, slancio verso il sacro, ma
anche radicamento nella madre Terra. Qui le generazioni uma-

here are places where time does not simply
flow but in some way manifests, becomes visi-
ble, allows itself to breathe. Paestum is one of
these places. With three large Doric temples
dedicated to Greek divinities such as Hera,
Athena and Neptune built between the 6th and 5th centuries
BC, Paestum is both a place of worship and a symbol of power.
Here time takes on three guises, declaring itself in three dif-
ferent ways; the time of history, the time of architecture and
the time of myth. Here architecture is revealed in its evolu-
tion, becoming the backdrop to a narrative in which gods and
heroes interact with human beings. Here time becomes stone
and language, the momentum towards the sacred, but rooted
