disegni delle muffe formatesi sui tronchi di cirmolo caduti a terra prima
della loro raccolta. Un’operazione che ci rimanda alla metafisica della
mescolanza del filosofo Emanuele Coccia – non siamo gli unici abitanti
di questo pianeta – e all’installazione di Thomas Doxiadis Entangled
Kingdoms alla Biennale di Architettura 2021 in cui l’architetto greco
aveva studiato e raccolto le muffe delle partizioni lignee dell’Arsenale
veneziano sotto il propagandistico slogan Without Me You Don’t
Exist. Funghi e muffe sono infatti quegli organismi indispensabili che
consentono la pedogenesi, ovvero il processo di formazione dei suoli
della crosta terrestre.
Il passaggio alla zona notte è segnato da un disimpegno al cui centro
è posizionata una cassettiera ricavata da un tronco di cirmolo di
duecentotrent’anni, il rappresentante di
uno degli alberi abbattuti per realizzare
la nuova cabinovia Cortina Skyline
che collega gli impianti delle Tofane
con quelli delle Cinque Torri. Alla
parete trova posto un’altra scultura di
Candeago, il monumentale tronco di un
albero colpito da un fulmine rinvenuto
dai fratelli Alverà nei pressi di Ospitale
– il precedente ristorante della famiglia,
ultimo avamposto cortinese tra la valle
d’Ampezzo e la Val Pusteria – e ricoperto
dall’artista di un blu profondo. Si
riconosce come nel progetto dello Chalet
sia stata applicata la poetica della reliquia
nella sua più pura valenza etimologica in
cui il “lasciare (-linquere) dietro (re-)”
diventa la manifestazione per divenire
altro. Le camere sono impreziosite da
pareti in legno intagliate e realizzate ad
hoc e da opere d’arte di artisti come Mario
Arlati e Igor Mitoraj, un’iniziativa resa
possibile grazie alla collaborazione con
alcune delle gallerie più prestigiose di
Cortina.
Lo Chalet Serge del Dolomiti Lodge
Alverà sviluppa un progetto di accoglienza
in cui si fondono tradizione e innovazione: architettura e arredo sono
studiati e scelti per valicare i confini delle convenzioni alimentando
quel necessario processo di trasformazione sul territorio in attesa
del prossimo evento olimpico. Tutto questo nella cornice della perla
indiscussa delle Dolomiti.

pine trunks that fell to the ground before they were harvested have been
deliberately kept. This operation reminds us of philosopher Emanuele
Coccia’s metaphysics of mixing - we are not the only inhabitants of this
planet - and Thomas Doxiadis’s installation Entangled Kingdoms at
the Biennale Architettura 2021 in which the Greek architect studied
and collected the moulds from the wooden partitions of the Venetian
Arsenal under the propagandistic slogan Without Me You Don’t
Exist. Fungi and moulds are, in fact, those indispensable organisms
that enable pedogenesis, i.e. the process of soil formation in the
Earth’s crust.
The passage to the sleeping area is marked by a hallway at the centre of
which is a chest of drawers made from a two-hundred-and-thirty-year-
old stone pine trunk, the representative
of one of the trees felled to build the new
Cortina Skyline cableway connecting the
Tofane and Cinque Torri lifts. On the
wall is another sculpture by Candeago,
the monumental trunk of a tree struck by
lightning found by the Alverà brothers
near Ospitale - the family’s former
restaurant, the last Cortina outpost
between the Ampezzo valley and the
Pusteria - which the artist covered in
deep blue. You can recognise how the
poetics of the relic (reliquia) has been
applied to the Chalet project in its purest
etymological meaning: in it, “leaving
(-linquere)
behind
(re-)”
becomes
the manifestation of transformation
into
something
else.
The
rooms
are embellished with ad-hoc carved
wainscoting and works of art by artists
such as Mario Arlati and Igor Mitoraj.
This initiative was made possible thanks
to the collaboration with some of
Cortina’s most prestigious galleries.
Chalet Serge Dolomiti Lodge Alverà
develops
a
hospitality
project
in
which tradition and innovation come
together: architecture and furnishings are not afraid to dare to cross
the boundaries of convention, fuelling that necessary process of
transformation in the area, in anticipation of the next Olympic event.
All this is framed by the unrivalled ‘pearl of the Dolomites.’
