forme di certi divani di Binfaré: ispirati
a rocce o ad animali (come paCk, che
ha la forma di un orso sdraiato sulla
banchisa) portano il mondo dentro la
casa. La fanno mondo. Mondo e casa
coincidono.
Edra, insomma, è consapevole che gli
oggetti e gli arredi sono espressione
di qualcosa di più profondo della loro
funzione immediata e perfino della loro
configurazione estetica. Attraverso di
essi, infatti, ognuno di noi cerca, anche
se inconsapevolmente, di ritrovare quel
senso di benessere, di protezione,
di unicità e di appagamento che
ha conosciuto nel luogo da cui tutti
proveniamo: la nostra casa primordiale,
l’utero materno.
Silvana Annicchiarico
Architetto, vive a Milano, svolge attività di ricerca, di critica e di didattica. È consulente per enti pubblici e aziende. Attraverso progetti espositivi ed editoriali si occupa di temi
contemporanei, dell’opera di grandi maestri e di nuovi protagonisti del design. Dal 2007 al 2018 è stata Direttore del Triennale Design Museum della Triennale di Milano.

is precisely the condition that the
emergency of the first few months of
2020 made us experience.
In other words, Edra is aware that
interior design and items are the
expression of something deeper than
their immediate purpose and even of
their aesthetic configuration. Actually,
it is through them that we all try,
even if unconsciously, to find again
that feeling of wellbeing, of safety, of
uniqueness and contentment that we
experienced in the place we all come
from: our first home, our mother’s
womb.
