l’anima del luogo”, spiega Monica Mazzei, vicepresidente
di Edra. “Del resto, la nostra sede è poco distante.
Condividiamo lo stesso orizzonte, gli stessi tramonti, la
stessa idea di bellezza senza tempo”.
Accanto alle sedute, i tavolini Cicladi disegnano un
arcipelago in alabastro di Volterra. Sono forme organiche,
apparentemente spontanee ma pensate con cura minuziosa:
vere sculture funzionali, che riflettono l’irregolarità armoniosa
della natura. Mentre la lampada Ines è un omaggio alla
leggerezza che si integra con precisione tra questi ambienti.
Fatta di policarbonato colato a mano, si accende di una luce
dorata e vibrante, calda come un tramonto su un campo
di grano. Come ogni altro elemento, è stato scelto per far
emergere
l’essenza
locale,
mai
per
sovrastarla. “Abbiamo
solo seguito il ritmo
del luogo”, ammette
Mounir Husseini. E
si sente. Intorno, la
tenuta è un mondo
a sé: 1100 ettari di
natura,
tra
boschi,
vigneti, laghi, sentieri
e uno dei campi da
golf più scenografici
d’Italia.
Insieme
al
resort, anche il borgo
ha ripreso vita. Ospiti e
abitanti si mescolano
nelle botteghe aperte
sulla via principale
e tra i tavolini della
gelateria. Ci sono una
spa aperta anche a
chi
non
soggiorna
in hotel e mille sentieri da percorrere a piedi, in bicicletta
o semplicemente con lo sguardo. Lepri, caprioli, volpi. Al
tramonto, i colori diventano liquidi e tutto sembra riflettersi
in una calma antica che si propaga ovunque. Del resto, il
fascino di Castelfalfi sta proprio in questo: nell’unione rara
tra natura, architettura e gesto umano. Gli arredi di Edra,
distribuiti negli ambienti comuni, incarnano un equilibrio
fatto di tonalità e forme ispirate alla terra, alla pietra, ai
boschi. Non si impongono, ma dialogano in silenzio con
la luce, i materiali, le persone. Così ogni oggetto diventa
esperienza tattile, ogni seduta una pausa emotiva. Nulla è lì
per caso. E nulla, alla fine, resta davvero immobile: perché
a Castelfalfi l’arredamento cambia pelle di continuo, in un
eterno work in progress che aggiunge di volta in volta nuovi

Cicladi tables create an archipelago of Volterra alabaster,
their apparently spontaneous organic forms designed
with meticulous care: truly functional sculptures, they
reflect nature’s harmonious irregularity. The Ines lamp,
cast by hand in polycarbonate, is an ode to lightness, sitting
precisely among the spaces, it illuminates with a vibrant
golden light, warm as the sunset on a field of wheat. Like the
other elements, it was chosen to draw out the local essence,
never to overpower it.
“We simply followed
the rhythm of the
place” admits Mounir
Husseini. And we can
feel this.All around,
the estate is a world
unto itself. The 1,100
hectares
of
nature
include
woods,
vineyards, lakes and
trails as well as one
of Italy’s most scenic
golf
courses.
The
village has come back
to life together with
the
resort.
Guests
and residents mingle
in shops open on the
main street and at the
tables of the gelateria.
There is a spa open
to non-residents of
the hotel, and a thousand trails to explore on foot, by bike
or simply with the eyes, spying hares, deer and foxes. At
sunset, colours become liquid and everything seems to
shimmer in an ancient calm that diffuses everywhere.
This is the charm of Castelfalfi: a rare union of nature,
architecture and human gesture. Edra furnishings, placed
throughout the common areas, embody a balance of
tones and forms inspired by forest, earth and stone.
They do not impose, but silently dialogue with light,
materials, and people, so that every object becomes a
tactile experience, each moment seated, an emotional
pause. Nothing is here by chance, and in the end nothing
is truly static. The Castelfalfi furnishings continuously
change skin in a never-ending work in progress, adding
