collection. With Minerals the company has looked to the
world of minerals and crystals, generated by millennial
transformations, carriers of light, of fascinating imperfections
and hidden meanings. With the collections Gems and Every
Stone this research continues, translating the purity of gems and
the timeless elegance of marble into softness. In the words of
Monica Mazzei, “Our research into material has been ongoing
since the beginning. It is our way of looking at beauty, which is
often there before our eyes. To look, and to see beyond. Nature is
an infinite source of inspiration, and material is a wonderful world
to explore”. In Edra we talk of material and not textiles, because
every element is part of the project, part of the thinking, from
leather to yarn and from internal structure to external surface.
This is how Glossy Matt was born, the result of in-depth study into
textures created on a large scale and with significant dimensions.
Models in the Edra collection are often characterised by complex
movements, free backrests and Smart Cushions, so they require
materials designed to meet requirements that are of a dynamic,
mechanical and aesthetic nature. Unique combinations of process
and yarn, of texture and colour, breathe life into surfaces capable
of adapting to pieces that are complex, organic and sculptural.
Material does not cover, material is substance and form, the very
