Il mio rapporto con Edra, ha in me radici lontane ed avvolgenti. Mi è
infatti naturale parlare di “rapporto” e non di “lavoro” perché Edra è
per me molto di più di un’azienda o di un marchio: è anche “famiglia”,
fa parte della mia vita.
All’interno di Edra si percepisce un’intelligenza tangibile ed
estremamente concreta, il cui aspetto principale – o per lo meno quello
che io vivo come tale – è il senso di libertà.
Il senso di libertà è ciò ho percepito nel mio passato: Edra mi ha
sempre incoraggiato a sognare e a spaziare con l’immaginazione.
Senso di libertà è ciò che sento nel presente, perché – come altre
persone - ogni giorno dedico, il meglio di me per far crescere e far
camminare questa bella ed importante realtà, in maniera naturale.
Senso di libertà è ciò che mi piace vedere nel mio futuro con
Edra, perché immagino di continuare questo percorso ricco di
quell’entusiasmo e di quell’ambizione che solo la libertà di poter
immaginare, proporre o scegliere può dare.
Insomma, Edra è una parte fondamentale della mia vita, un intreccio
di persone speciali, prodotti di estrema sostanza e qualità, belle ed
interessanti storie che suscitano emozioni.
PS: Vorrei essere sicuro che queste mie brevi considerazioni non
lascino pensare che tutto sia semplice e scontato… anzi è proprio
affrontando i piccoli e grandi ostacoli - tanti e quotidiani - i dibattiti
anche accesi per individuare la strada migliore, le scelte da prendere
per il breve e lungo periodo, che mi convinco di quanto, nel suo
insieme, Edra sia per me libertà.

The roots of my relationship with Edra go back in time and wrap
around me. In fact it is natural for me to speak of my “relationship” and
not of “work” because Edra is much more than a company or brand
to me, it is my “family” too, and part of my life. In Edra you can feel a
tangible, very concrete sense of intelligence, and the most significant
aspect of this intelligence, at least the way I experience it, is the sense
of freedom. A sense of freedom is what I have felt in the past. Edra has
always encouraged me to dream, to give free range to my imagination.
A sense of freedom is what I feel in the present, because in a natural
way, each day like other people, I dedicate the best part of myself to
making Edra, this important and beautiful reality, walk and grow.
A sense of freedom is how I like to see my future at Edra, because I
imagine continuing on this journey with all its wealth of enthusiasm and
of aspiration, the kind you only have with the freedom of being able to
imagine, propose and choose.
In short Edra is a fundamental part of my life, a tapestry of special
people, of highly substantial quality products, and beautiful interesting
stories that offer me emotions.
PS: I want to be sure these short comments of mine don’t make readers
think everything is plain and obvious - it isn’t. But facing the multiple
daily obstacles, large and small, the sometimes heated discussions
when looking for the best way forward, the long and short term choices
we always need to make, convinces me how much, taken as a whole,
Edra for me is freedom.

Ho iniziato a lavorare in Edra nel maggio del 1987, in concomitanza
con la presentazione al mondo di quella giovane, intraprendente e già
visionaria azienda. Nel corso di questi anni ho viaggiato e conosciuto i
nostri clienti, in tutto il mondo, e ancora devo conoscerne di nuovi.
I nostri partner hanno creduto sin dall’inizio nella nostra collezione e
ci hanno sostenuto nel corso del tempo, scegliendo Edra per progetti
bellissimi. Mi trovo a lavorare con la generazione successiva ai nostri
clienti storici, e ne vado orgogliosa, perché questo rappresenta il segno
dei valori su cui abbiamo costruito le nostre partnership.
Sono persone eccezionali con la capacità di vedere oltre, percependo
e riuscendo a loro volta a trasmettere agli acquirenti gli elementi
culturali intrinseci della collezione. Mi ritengo fortunata, perché ho
avuto l’opportunità di conoscere tantissime persone appassionate
ed interessanti, espressione di mondi e culture spesso anche molto
distanti tra loro.
Un ricordo speciale va a Mina, mia mamma, responsabile della
produzione fino al 2011, e a Giuseppe, mio padre, che ha ideato
il metodo con cui viene realizzata la poltrona Vermelha dei Fratelli
Campana. Sono grata a Valerio e a Monica per avermi dato questa
opportunità di crescita professionale ed umana: ho vissuto così in
un’azienda per me doppiamente familiare.

I started working at Edra in May 1987, just as this enterprising, young
and already visionary company was being presented to the world.
Over these 36 years I have travelled the world and met our customers
one by one. There are still new ones I haven’t met yet.
Our partners believed in the collection from the beginning and
supported us over time by choosing Edra for beautiful projects, often
photographed in the world’s highest quality journals of design.
Sometimes I find myself working with the next generation of our
established clients, and that makes me feel proud because it is a sign
of the values our partnerships are built on. They are special people
with an ability to see beyond, capable of sensing the intrinsic cultural
elements of our collection and conveying this to our clients. I consider
myself lucky because I have had the opportunity to meet so many
passionate and interesting people, an expression of worlds and cultures
that are often far apart, men and women who have been with us as
we grew. I’d like to especially remember my mother Mina, who was
responsible for production until 2011, and my father Giuseppe, who
devised the method for producing the Campana Brothers’ Vermelha
armchair. I am grateful to Valerio and Monica, who gave me this
opportunity to grow professionally and personally, experiencing life in
a company that is doubly familiar.

pOnsaCCO MagniFiCa
A Dicembre 2022 il teatro Odeon, immerso nella splendida location
di Villa Elisa, ha ospitato il concerto d’inverno dal titolo Ponsacco
Magnifica organizzato in collaborazione tra Edra e le istituzioni e
associazioni locali: Comune di Ponsacco, Associazione Amici della
Musica, Odeon Eventi. Protagonista della serata di gala, presentata da
Anna Tavernise, è stata la Ponsacco Jazz Orchestra, accompagnata dalle
voci di Sara Maghelli e Corinna Bertini. L’obiettivo dell’evento è stato
duplice: regalare agli spettatori una serata di musica e divertimento
e contribuire alla crescita sociale con un preciso scopo benefico.
L’intero ricavato è stato infatti devoluto alla Misericordia di Ponsacco
per l’acquisto di una nuova ambulanza e delle relative apparecchiature
e alla casa di riposo Giampieri.

In December 2022, immersed in the splendid location of Ponsacco’s
Villa Elisa, the Odeon theatre played host to Ponsacco Magnifica, a
winter concert organized in a collaboration between Edra and local
associations and institutions including the municipality of Ponsacco, the
Associazione Amici della Musica [Friends of Music], and Odeon Eventi.
Protagonist of the gala evening presented by Anna Tavernise, was the
Ponsacco Jazz Orchestra in the company of vocalists Sara Maghelli and
Corinna Bertini. The aim of the event was twofold: offer the audience
an evening of music and entertainment, and contribute to social welfare
through a specific benefit. The evening’s entire proceeds were donated
to the Misericordia di Ponsacco charity for the purchase of a new
ambulance and related medical equipment, and to the Giampieri rest
home.
