sdraiare sul divano ed essere letteralmente immersi in questo splendido
paesaggio verde che ci circonda a 360 gradi”. In tutte le stanze, sono
state ricercate la massima apertura e la massima luce possibile. Anche
le camere hanno finestre – che permettono di avere sempre un contatto
visivo con l’esterno – e numerosi punti luce per la sera.
Gli arredi Edra entrano nell’architettura, richiamando le sue linee pulite
e assecondando i principi che l’hanno animata. Nel living, Flap e Tatlin,
caratterizzati da geometrie precise, offrono la possibilità di sedersi o
sdraiarsi in modo da apprezzare l’intorno da diverse prospettive. Grazie
a queste “installazioni domestiche” viene accentuata la sensazione di
trovarsi immersi in uno spazio aperto, protetto e confortevole, inondato
da verde e luce. La fluidità dell’architettura interna è assecondata dalla
visuale sulle molteplici stanze che compongono la zona giorno, che
appare così continua alla vista.
Razionalista ma allo stesso tempo profondamente organica, l’architettura
è costruita nel pieno rispetto dell’ambiente che la ospita. Ingloba
letteralmente la natura. “C’erano degli olivi che Paoli non ha voluto
tagliare e quindi ha costruito la casa intorno a loro, facendo dei buchi
nella copertura del tetto, così da permettere alle piante di crescere”.
A firma dell’architetto anche alcuni dettagli di arredo, come il grande
camino in metallo del salotto e il tavolo da pranzo in ferro verniciato
arancione. Il legno di Favela e la morbidezza di Blue Velvet giocano a
contrastare i metalli utilizzati da Paoli per l’arredo custom made.
La casa nasconde però un’altra anima. Dal piano terra, coi rigorosi
interni moderni, puliti e minimali, si passa alla taverna, dominata dagli
irriverenti e colorati anni ’80. Qui troviamo la parte più “ludica” della
villa. Composta da tante stanze, la taverna ospita una seconda cucina, la
cantina, una sala cinema, sala biliardo e bar, un paio di stanze per fare il
barbecue. “Questa è la parte che viviamo di più quando ci sono gli amici,
è perfetta per stare in compagnia e divertirsi. C’è una saletta che Paoli
Favela.

literally be immersed in this beautiful green landscape that surrounds
us full circle. In all rooms, as much openness and light as possible were
sought. The rooms also have windows - which allow visual contact with
the outside at all times - with numerous light points in the evening.
Edra furnishings enter the architecture, recalling its clean lines and
following the principles that animated it. In the living room, Flap and
Tatlin, characterized by precise geometries, offer the possibility to
sit or lie down in order to appreciate the surroundings from different
perspectives. Thanks to these “domestic installations”, the feeling of
being immersed in an open, protected and comfortable space, flooded
with greenery and light, is accentuated. The fluidity of the internal
architecture is supported by the view of the multiple rooms that make
up the living area, which thus appears continuous to the eye.
The architecture is rationalist but at the same time profoundly organic,
as it is built in full respect of its surroundings. It literally encompasses
nature. “There were some olive trees that Paoli didn’t want to cut down,
so he built the house around them, making holes in the roof so that the
plants could grow.” Some furnishing details are also traceable to the
architect, such as the large metal fireplace in the living room and the
orange painted iron dining table. The wood of Favela and the softness
of Blue Velvet play against the metals used by Paoli for custom made
furniture.
Yet, the house hides another soul. From the ground floor, with its strict
modern, clean and minimalist interior, one moves to the cellar, dominated
by the irreverent and colourful 1980s. Here we find the most “playful”
part of the villa. Consisting of many rooms, the basement cellar houses
a second kitchen, a wine cellar, a cinema room, billiard room and bar,
and a couple of rooms for barbecues. “This is the part we experience the
