ot so long ago, I wrote two articles
about Edra, the first one about the
Grande Soffice sofa, the other about
the Smart Cushion patent. Having
read them, Monica Mazzei sent me an
email saying she wanted to meet me.
We arranged one, then more meetings,
lunches and conversations, she made me sit on all the sofas
in the showroom, as if I were her best customer, she made
me meet everyone, or nearly everyone. Without realising
it, I found myself plunged headlong into Edra’s world,
in a comparatively short time, but with an intensity and
enthusiasm that I had rarely felt before.
Edra can be pictured as a bouncy wave that sweeps you
away, then gently rocks you for as long as it takes, then lets
you go. And when you go, you can’t help taking something
away. Even if just a sentence, a face, an image. I think that
such approach, stirring yet calm, is Edra’s inspiration.
