La ricerca artistica di Omar Hassan è un tentativo costante di tracciare il tempo
attraverso i suoi gesti pittorici di sintesi. La sua tecnica è ispirata al suo passato
da pugile. Diventa celebre per le sue sperimentazioni nell’action painting
immergendo i suoi guantoni da boxe nella vernice e prendendo letteralmente
a pugni le proprie tele. Con la sua serie Dots, Omar mette in evidenza i
concetti di sintesi e di sottrazione, di razionalità e di irrazionalità. I primi grandi
riconoscimenti iniziano nel 2011 con la partecipazione alla Biennale di Venezia
seguita da esposizioni in collezioni permanenti e mostre personali internazionali.
Oggi Omar espone, vive e lavora tra Milano e Miami.
Omar Hassan's artistic research is a constant attempt to trace time through
his painterly acts of synthesis. His technique is inspired by his past as a boxer.
He became famous for his experiments in action painting, immersing his boxing
gloves in paint and literally punching his canvases. With his Dots series, Omar
highlights the concepts of synthesis and subtraction, rationality, and irrationality.
His first major recognitions began in 2011 with his participation in the Venice
Biennale, followed by exhibitions in permanent collections and international solo
shows. Today, Omar exhibits, lives, and works between Milan and Miami.
