I’m a Dreamer: a social project
created during the Festival
del Buon Vivere (Good Living
Festival), for the wellness of
the land, the people, and the
environment
Terra del Buon Vivere puts the people at the forefront
because Communities can prepare for the future when
we join together with others and actively participate
in the construction of far-reaching trajectories.
Terra del Buon Vivere is a unique experience that
embraces the true meaning of hospitality, the
dominant feature of the Romagna region. It is based
on knowledge, openness, and the ability to truly see.
Terra del Buon Vivere tells the story of a journey of
time gone by. It unites places and people, fusing them
into one soul.
It is a new way of promoting the common good. It is
a way to create a culture and generate attractions
through conversations about ideas, projects, practices
and visions that translate into fair, just and conscious
progress. It is the place where sustainability equates
with the coherence of being, and the strength of our
differences is its drive and its value.
The main hope for harmony in our troubled world, as
Nobel Prize winner Amartya Sen would say, lies in
the pluralism of our intertwining identities. In it, the
strength of acting together exceeds the sum of the
individual parts, and the relationship becomes the
hallmark of progress, which transforms from social
into economic; it is an innovation that leaves no one
left behind. It is here that the essence of Buon Vivere
is found. Companies also play an essential role in the
“economy of the relationship” when they act in the
interest of sustainable development and enhancement
of the Community; when they promote behaviours
that, by creating and replicating good practices,
generate value in the bilateral and permeable
relationship between the land and those who live on
it; when they are bearers of a culture of responsibility
that passes down knowledge.
La Terra del Buon Vivere is for those who do not rely
on a place. Rather they live it, continually contributing
to improve it. It is for those who know how to dream
of the future and, in the meantime, work to make it
come true.
Austrian writer I. Bachmann chose to live in Italy and
wrote, “I have learned something from the Italians,
but it’s hard to say what it is. Because you can only
learn from them after you’ve thrown away every idea
you had before. It’s not the beauty [...], but the way of
life. Here I have learned to live.”
La Terra del Buon Vivere interprets these words as
having the courage to have ideas that do not fear
reality as they are expressed and realised, while our
gazes are firmly turned forward.
“I’m a dreamer”.
“We are dreamers”, knowing that those who sow buon
vivere every day will reap the future.
