Paul opened Stereo House in June 1974.
Selling and leasing hifi, tv, video material and disco bars,
quickly adding lighting equipment for discotheques and thus learned
the lighting business. As if it wasn’t enough he started Delta Matrix
(now Bematrix), an innovative concept in the world of adaptable
stand building solutions. He wanted to grow even more and sold
Stereo House to one of his employees to focus on Delta Light.
In 1989 his young man’s dream was lit and Delta Light was born.
Designing and manufacturing architectural lighting for the hospitality
and residential markets.
Being strong locally turned into going global, immediately
participating in international fairs. Between 1991 and 2015 the
company surface grew from 500 m² to 48.000 m². The staff grew
from 10 to 450 and we entered retail, public, office and showroom
markets. Currently being active on all continents,
but still the local roots remained essential!
“I started designing and developing all products myself and
even though we have 35 engineers doing this today, I still keep
contributing my vision and ideas. Because once a player, hard to
become a fan, sitting on the bench and watching the game.
My dream really came true, not to forget,
together with my wife Katrien.
Our sons, Peter and Jan,
continue to make that dream grow.”
What started as a young man’s dream, keeps on
evolving and growing. What is behind this continuous drive?
Some might say ‘healthy common sense’,
others call it ‘pursuing endurance to make dreams come true’.
We call it Delta Light!
