HUMAN CENTRIC LIGHTING
Soft Dim LED technology
replicates the dimming behaviour
of a conventional lamp where
the colour temperature increases
in warmth as it’s dimmed. This
is achieved through the use
of specially selected LEDs of
different colour temperatures
and power types from premium
chip manufacturers. Consistency
is ensured without complexity
with the use of specific and
precise LED selection. The LED’s
selected have colour tolerances
that are tighter than 3 SDCM
ensuring module-to-module
accuracy.
The Soft Dim technology is
incorporated in familiar Delta
Light product families such as
the Reo, You-Turn, iMax, Deep
Ringo, Carree, Spy, Tweeter and
Minigrid. Also available in some
of Delta Light's 48V Solutions
such as Superloop MDL &
Magnetic Profiles Splitline /
Shiftline M.
Since its creation, DL has embraced a continuous innovation process to integrate the latest
technological developments towards fixtures characterized by good color consistency,
glare mitigation, design and aesthetics. These aspects satisfy the functionality of the lighting
installation and create a pleasant ambient to affect the emotions of the end-user in a positive
way. So far, the impact of these aspects were considered only for the visual task. Supernova
Tunable White, with integrated Human Centric Light (HCL), also impacts the circadian rhythm.
The circadian clock regulates processes such as the melatonin secretion - a hormone
responsible for the sleep – and our concentration and level of alertness. Unfortunately, the
change in the working places towards indoor spaces isolates us from the natural stimulus
of sunlight and therefore our circadian clock needs to be stimulated by artificial lighting
emulating the daylight cycle.
The last years DL has been working on a lighting management system to enhance the
well-being of the end-users in the frame of the HCL paradigm. Besides the in-house research
and developments, joint efforts with universities and other research centers like the Light &
Lighting laboratory from the KU Leuven, Attentia and the health care center of Roeselare
allow us to provide better solutions aiming to address specific niches of application such as
offices, schools, nursing homes, hotels and residences.
One of these solutions is Supernova Tunable White with integrated HCL, a system that
changes its colour temperature during the day according to the graph shown above. This
solution includes CTRL Delta and lets you control the luminaires easily with the touch of your
smart device.
