design: Inge Rylant
MIKA
Inge Rylant’s work as an illustrator is defined by two main characteristics: screen printing and
Japanese aesthetics. For MIKA, Inge has combined the tactile nature of screen printing with the
visual style of Japanese photographer Yoshi Takata, who worked for the french fashion designer
Pierre Cardin in the 60’s-70’s. The result is a subtle interaction of abstract colour fields,
a perfect fit for fans of contemporary design.
MIKA is a popular Japanese maiden name that contains both the characters
美 (beauty) and 加 (increase).
